Tiritiri Matangi

Tiritiri Matangi is a magical place. Everywhere around are stunning birds, archaic looking tuatara, and fearsome looking Weta. The first species on our agenda was a very tame Pied Shag.

After that, it was a stroll around the coastal forest. It was here that the rain decided to fall down upon us. Neither me nor my camera were very amused.

Next stop: the Stitchbird feeders.

The trip had already been pretty eventful, when we turned around a corner to find a Kakariki happily feeding on a flax! What luck!
